Developers work with their instructional designer to complete the CLO_ULO_IRA_Planning_Form (as a Canvas assignment). This includes:
- Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) aligned to Unit Learning Outcomes (ULOs).
- ULOs aligned to assessments in each unit.
- IRA plan that indicates how each outcome will be introduced, reinforced, and assessed.
The instructional designer collaborates with the course developer to ensure that the outcomes are aligned with Bloom’s Taxonomy and makes recommendations as needed. The example below includes images of several aspects of the CLO/ULO/IRA Planning Form.
The following is the introduction to the form that shows course developers how to get started with the planning process.

The following example shows:
Steps 1.1 is where course developers provide approved CLOs.
Step 1.2 is where course developers submit their ULOs for the course and align them to the CLOs.

Step 1.3 This section is designed to help the course developer and instructional evaluate the distribution of ULOs that support each CLOs. By using this map the course developer and instructional designer can evaluate how and where each CLO will be covered and how the ULOs will be introduced, reinforced and assessed in the course.

The following is a color-coded example of a completed CLO/ULO/IRA Planning Form.
