Introduction
It is in this step that the main content development occurs. The course developer first designs any main projects that may span several units then begins developing the content for each unit. At Park, each undergraduate course has a Core Assessment. The Core Assessment often is a paper or project that may need to be scaffolded across several units. It can include a variety of elements with activities that could be problem-based, project based, place-based, case studies, etc. Projects can be individual or group-based and tied to a discussion so students can collaborate in teams.
The Core Assessment may be one assignment or several scaffolded assignments that culminate in a final assignment. We encourage scaffolded assignment where ever possible.
